1. Report submitted to the Prof. Santa Bahadhur Gurung, co-chairman of NFDIN and Dr. Om Gurung, secretary, Nepal Federation Of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) on ‘BASES FOR THE ENLISTMENT AS AN INDIGENOUS NATIONALITIES’ on 11th Magh, 2061.
2. As per the conditions prescribed in National Foundation For Development Of Indigenous Nationalities Regulation 2058(ACT 2) Bahing community meet all the terms and conditions required for the enlistment as an Indigenous nationalities. BKM has been writing applications, letters and delegations to concerned organization and authorities time and again. Brief account of it is given below:

3. 15 days workshop was conducted on ‘Bahing language orthography and creative writing’ at Gorumare Bhanjyang, Okhldhunga from 26 Poush, 2064 to 10 Magh, 2064.18 vowel letters and 30 consonant letters were allocated for Bahing language. One unique implosive sound was created from the joint discussion of linguist Dr. Maureen B. lee and 20 Bahing participants as the Nepali grammar could not cover its pronunciation and writing
4. BKM presented the extensive recommendation to the constitution committee on 10 Baisakh 2065.
5. Awareness program on the rights of Indigenous nationalities (first session) was conducted in Okhaldhunga from 7 Magh to 26 Magh, 2063 in joint collaboration of BKM and NGO-FONIN which was financially supported by DANIDA HUGHOU. Representatives of 11 ethnic communities were participated in the program. The program was successful at creating awareness among the Indigenous peoples about their rights and shaping the distinct identity of indigenous nationalities.
6.The second session of awareness program was held at Okhaldhunga from 2064/06/11 to 2064/06/14. The main issues of Indigenous Nationalities were identified in this program.
7. The third session of the awareness was held at the same venue from 2064/09/14 to 2064/09/15. The program concentrated on the access of Indigenous nationalities in governmental resources.
8. Fourth session was run for 2 days on 17th and 18th Chaitra; 2064.this program was aimed at creating awareness about the constitutional assembly to the local Indigenous peoples and their role in the formation of new constitution.
9. Fifth session of the program was held on 2065/02/17. the program was based on the encouragement of Indigenous peoples participation in constitutional assembly.
10. Sixth session of the program lasted for 3 days from 2065/06/11 to 2065/06/13. Orientation and training program was launched about ILO-169 in this session.
11. Seventh session was conducted for 2 days on 29th and 30th Kartik, 2065. Participants provided their views, ideas and suggestions about the federal system of governance.
12. Eighth session of the chain program was held on 16th Kartik, 2065.in this program participants were made aware about the human rights as prescribed by UN.
13. Ninth session was run for a day on 17th Kartik, 2065. As an outcome of the discussions conducted among various Indigenous peoples present in the program 43-points demand was submitted to the concern authorities.
14. Tenth session of the program focused on the review of 3-points demand and the delegation was sent to different political parties and governmental agencies.
15. Mr. Mekh Raj Bahing, general secretary of Bahing Kirat Mulukhim participated in the program named ‘Expert Mechanism of the Rights of Indigenous Population’(EMRIP) which was held in Geneva, Switzerland(head office of UN) on 3rd Oct. to 5th Oct. 2008, in financial assistance of UN voluntary fund for Indigenous Population. Recognition of Indigenous identity (aadibasiko pahichan) and education in own mother tongues were given main emphasis on the program.
16. After the establishment of central office in Kathmandu in 2004, Bahing Kirat Mulukhim instituted a district level committee in Okhaldhunga in 2006 and 13 village committee were formed in the same year in the areas having high density of Bahings among them 11 fell in Okhaldhunga district and 2 in Solukhumbu district. Recently it was extend at Morang district too. Central office has aimed at extending its branches in Sunsari, Solukhumbu, Shankhuwasabha, Khotang and Ilam district in near future.
17. District level poem writing competition in mother-tongue was organized in Solukhumbu district on 4th Falgun, 2063.
18. 3rd establishment day was celebrated on 23rd Aasar, 2063 along with seminar on ‘Bahing mother-tongue’
19. 2 days training program on the ‘Voices of Indigenous Bahing’ was conducted on 23rd and 24th Aasar, 2063.
20. 12 Bahings participated in the training ‘Production of Skilled Manpower’ conducted by NGO-FONIN.
21. 5 days advocacy training program (advocacy strategies & approaches) run in joint efforts with advocacy forum for revitalizing equitable societies in the Himalayas (AFRESH) which was assisted by ICCIMOD, from 3rd to 7th Nov. 2007.
22. Continuation of radio program ‘Aadibasi Gunjan’ (Voice of Indigenous)on time's F.M.
23. One day OD workshop was run in Kathmandu which was participated by 19 people.
24. The organization is actively taking part in all kinds of rituals (marriage, birth, funeral) performed in Bahing communities.
25. One day interaction program about the participation of Indigenous peoples in constitution assembly and their inclusion on rebuilding of the nation held on 20 Shrawan 2064 in Kathmandu.
26. ‘Bahing Kirat Student Union’ and ‘Bahing Women Organization’ were formed respectively in 2062 and 2064.
27. The organization is registered in the umbrella organization of Kirats ‘Aadibasi Kirat (Mahasang)’Federation
28. Human resource policy, 2064 and finance policy, 2063 were published.
29. Publication of annual magazine ‘Bahing ke Mimkha’ (Remembrance of Bahing)and informative pamphlet regarding Bahings.
30. Writer of national anthem, Pradip Kumar Rai (Byakul maila) honored by district level committee of Bahing Kirat Mulukhim, Okhaldhunga.
31. Press conference held jointly by Bahing Kirat Mulukhim and Bahing Kirat Student Union on 23rd Aasar, 2064 strongly opposing the agreement reached by ram Chandra Paudel, minister, peace and reconstruction and Aadibasi Janajati Mahasang.
32. This organization provided the monetary fund, clothes, household utensils, for the rehabilitation of fire victims of V.D.C Moli-7, Okhaldhunga. The fire broke out in the village in Chaitra, 2066 leaving more than 76 families homeless.
33. DDP project
Democracy Dialogue Project (DDP) is a short-term project of 6 months conducted in 10 VDCs (Moli, Ketuke, Baruneshwor, Bigutar, Rangadip, Diyale, Ratmate, Sisneri, Bolokhu and Ubu) of Okhaldhunga district from Chaitra 2065 to Aasar 2066 by Bahing Kirat Mulukhim in collaboration with NGO-FONIN in financial support of UNDP. The program was run with an objective of ensuring the rights of Indigenous nationalities in the forth coming constitution. The program strengthens the voice of voiceless.
34. Mr. Mekh Raj Bahing, general secretary of Bahing Kirat Mulukhim ,participated in the program named ‘Permanent Forum on the Issue of Indigenous ’(PFII) which was held in USA New York, (head office of UN) on 17th Apr. to 30th Apr. 2010, in financial assistance of UN voluntary fund for Indigenous population. Special Theme was 'Indigenous peoples, development with culture and identity', article 3 and 32 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous peoples
